Economic Development

Three Rivers Regional Commission’s economic development objectives encompass growth and commercial development for local businesses creating jobs, and compatibility among existing and new uses leading to a higher quality of life for residents.

In partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, the TRRC region is designed as an Economic Development District.  The Three Rivers Economic Development District (TREDD) allows for local governments in the region access to grants and other job creating economic development projects.  The TREDD designation also requires TRRC to have a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).  The CEDS is developed in cooperation with local governments in the 10-county TRRC region to assess economic development trends, strengths, and assets by which jobs are created, more stable and diversified economies are fostered, and living conditions are improved.
